Big Band Nouveau
Big Band Nouveau is a West Michigan based ensemble and performs modern jazz compositions in a full big band orchestra. Along with Michael Doyle, I have served as co-director of this local group since our inception in 2012.
Previous performances include Jazz at the Zoo, Grand Rapids Arts Festival, Grand Rapids Jazz Festival, Hastings Jazz Festival, monthly performances at the Home B.O.B. and private events.

Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra is an established West Michigan based ensemble and performs featured some of the world’s top Jazz Musicians such as Phil Woods and Randy Brecker as guest artists.
After serving as a sub for many years, I joined GRJO in 2014.

Through high-quality performances featuring jazz music, the organization seeks to provide educational programs that engage the community’s youth and foster lifelong music-making, collaborate with other organizations in the community to serve its needs; and foster an appreciation for jazz among our audiences and increase community participation. Formed in 2018, HCJO is under the direction of Jordan VanHemert.

Hark Up Music
Large scale musical production with performances at Christmas at DeVos Hall and Fourth of July Celebrations in East Grand Rapids. Additional performances also include Swing Night at Rosa Parks and private events. Hark Up is under the direction of Chris Hansen.
Low Brass Ensemble
All Your Bass
All Your Bass is a newly formed [2019] ensemble consisting of all low brass instruments. Musical arrangements focus on video game soundtrack arrangements. The group consists of local band directors including Troy Anderson, Mark Lago, Luke Marlow, Brad Beyer, Travis Good and myself.

The River City Jazz Ensemble, West Michigan’s high society dance band, is rich in tradition, with the instantly identifiable sound of the Big Band era. Performances include wedding receptions, conventions, music festivals and special occasions. The band is under the direction of Dave Wells.
