High School Band
- Performances: Performed variety of concerts for the community as well as performances for the student body.
- Technology Incorporation for Individual Student Growth: Used a variety of technology sources to bridge the gap between individual student and teacher, using video submissions online to listen to gauge individual student progress. Using online rubrics and screen capture video responses, I was able to give personal feedback to students that could be shared with family members as well. Shared these concepts with other teachers at the Michigan Music Conference and through the “Communications by Design” Professional Development Organization.
- Band Festivals: Organized and hosted district 10 MSBOA Band Festivals at our school for many surrounding schools. Our bands performed and received a first division rating at each.
- Clinics: Implemented clinics with guest conductors such as John Varineau of GRSO, Cormac Cannon of MSU, and retired band directors such as Ted Bazany, Jim Mollema, Dixie Detgen, Susan Gould, Dave Bass, David Wells and Matt Arau
- Curriculum / Music Selection: Coordinated curriculum with IB music to program a diverse variety of musical styles both western and non-western.
- Extra Curricular: Directed pit orchestra at Hartford and Laingsburg, Performed trombone in pit orchestra at EGR
- Trips: Coordinated multiple trips featuring music clinics and performances at Disney World, Cedar Point, Toronto, Chicago and New York

Middle School Band
- Cross-Curricular / Themed Concerts: Coordinated with teachers from other curriculums to create themed concerts with dance-themed music featuring dancers, a color-themed concert featuring artists painting in real time during the performance. Diverse concert themes include these highlights: Music by Women Composers, a Science Fiction concert, and Music from Around the World”, featuring slideshow presentations made by the students with a focus on features and images from each region / culture.
- Skyping with Composers: Before zoom was the standard, we skyped with composers to discuss with the students their process, and to listen to the band perform and get immediate feedback.
- Clinics: Implemented clinics with guest conductors such as John Varineau of GRSO, Cormac Cannon of MSU, and retired band directors such as Ted Bazany, Jim Mollema, Dixie Detgen, Susan Gould, Dave Bass, David Wells and Marr Arau
- Band Festival: Eighth grade middle school band received division I ratings at MSBOA band festival.
